Aspirations vs. Goals
There’s a difference between aspirations and goals. Aspirations are divergent. Goals are convergent. Aspirations articulate what you want to achieve. Goals articulate how you want to achieve them. You need both. Aspirations without goals keep you in the realm of fantasy—the ill-manifested reality of your potential. Goals without aspirations are vapid and unfulfilling. It’s like merging onto a busy highway, without the slightest idea of your destination. Hello rat race. Both extremities keep us suspended, whether in lofty ideals or pointless details. But marry the two and, with much effort, your dreams will begin to materialize.
