Assistants, Consultants and Three R’s
Assistants and consultants have more in common than I thought. Some overlapping values:
Remote. Red flag if you’re working for someone who needs face-time on demand and every time. Codependency is around the corner.
Results. Some tasks are results-oriented. No meetings or retreats necessary.
Respect. Employer hold all the money, not all your time. Go beyond the call of duty, but not at the expense of your self-respect.
Employers and clients have expectations, but so do you. Set clear boundaries. It gives you leverage and longevity. All things considered, a stellar assistant is really a consultant in disguise.
