Is Procrastination Reactionary Deep Work?
I’m beginning to think procrastination is a reactionary form of facilitating deep work. It’s the unsystematic, informal approach to blocking out that uninterrupted space of time to engage in a cognitively-straining task. If you consistently meet deadlines and produce high quality work then you’re a professional procrastinator. You always get the job done. But procrastination is a dark art. The real question is, What are you doing with the rest of your time? If it’s filled with other procrastinatory deep work tasks, then I’d like to suggest you just create a schedule and make it proactive.
